In September, the committee for St Anne’s on the Sea In Bloom were invited to have an informal tea with the Town Mayor for 2017, Karen Henshaw. She decided to ask us as a thank you gesture for the work we had done about the town and in the re-vamped Peace and Happiness Garden (AKA Les Dawson Garden).
We happily accepted her invitation and we enjoyed the sandwiches and cakes very much. Thank you Karen, it was a lovely afternoon.

It’s worth pointing out that we are only volunteers who care about the town and are trying to do something to make it look and feel better. We do this work with no idea about being thanked but when we are it really helps our motivation to carry on.
If you think you would also like to be appreciated by residents (and dignitaries) of our lovely town and would like to join us either as a regular volunteer gardener or as a committee member (we really need three people to join our committee) then please use the contact page and let us know.
Please consider joining us. We are friendly and upbeat. (Most of the time and as long as it’s not lashing down!)

Also this month our work in the Peace and Happiness Garden was featured in Lancashire Life magazine
Our volunteers have worked very hard to ensure the garden is looking at it’s best during the Summer and we have received some very positive comments from visitors
