Another great article in the Lytham St Annes Express. This year’s Christmas Tree collection (now organised by St Anne’s in Bloom) has been a great success. We had to extend the collection dates and area to cope with the demand.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers for their hard work, and to Adams Signs who loaned us a trailer for free, to help us keep up with demand. Many thanks to the residents of St Anne’s for your support again this year. All the trees collected will be put to good use, helping to protect our environment.

The trees are going to be dug into the beach to help form part of the ‘soft sea defences’ where they will help to trap sand and extend the sand dunes seaward. This year the tress will be dug in on February 7th, 8th & 9th. If you want to help please be at the North Beach Carpark at 10:00 on any of those days. It’s a good way to spend a couple of hours and you can do as much, or as little, as you are able. It’s such a good feeling knowing that you are helping to protect the dunes, providing habitat for wildlife and keeping 400+ trees out of landfill sites.
